Lecture on CAS as part of the International Olympic Academy education program

On 11.09.2024, our Managing Lawyer, Mr. Alkis Papantoniou, gave a lecture on CAS, in the context of the new educational initiative of the International Olympic Committee titled “The International Elite Sports Personnel Development Programme: Enhancing International Sports Management Skills 2024”.

This programme has been developed through the collaboration of the Sport Authority of Thailand and the National Olympic Academy of Thailand and is specifically designed for officials from various Sports Federations.

With an audience consisting of officials from the Sport Authority of Thailand, the National Olympic Academy of Thailand, and various federations of Thailand, the following issues were analysed:

  • the creation and development of CAS
  • the current rules of CAS
  • the creation and the rules of the CAS ad hoc divisions for the Olympic Games
  • 4 major decisions of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games CAS Ad Hoc division.
